I really enjoyed Torn. The story is fast paced from start to finish. One of the things I like about the story was the lone female heroine and she was there to save and protect the men in the story. It was a nice relief from boy saves girl. I liked Sam's ability to separate herself when she was really conflicted and could take a look at everything around her. Later, we realize this is one of her talents. Despite the deep betrayal that Sam experiences, she still remains hopeful. I like this message from Sam's father, "Anger fueled by love will not condemn you. Anger in spite of love makes you no better than those you seek to destroy." It's ok to be angry, but use that anger for a purpose and not for vengeance. I like this message in the story.
