Sym has always dreamed of exploring Antarctica like her idol Titus Oates. When her uncle steals her away to the continent, Sym is content to follow along. Until she finds that he has more sinister motives than making a teen girl's dreams come true. It took me a long time to get to like Sym because she is pretty oblivious to her uncles insanity until the very end, but she grows up a lot in the last couple chapters.

I actually found this book kind of slow and more than a little annoying. Sym in particular drove me nuts becuase she is so willing to accept anything her uncle says. It is a tough sell and sometimes a tough read.
