To be honest, I was really interested in reading this book, and wanted very much to love it. I suspected it would be more than a self-help book, I suspected it would be an analytical guide to living a successful and meaningful life. But the overall takeaway is relatively shallow. There's brief and interesting mentions of theories and formulas that can be applied to the way one lives a life, but because these explorations aren't that thorough and sometimes aren't that directly relatable, the book misses some of its potential impact. There's plenty of one-liners that will be good for CEOs, just like in Christensen's prior books, but little of the convincing depth.
