The book was not typical bad gay historical romance. Altrough it was little bit too modern for end of the 19th century, it made it to be pageturner and authors made splendid job to captivate readers attention whole the time. Only bad thing was that book was too short and the main villian was dispossed little bit too quickly and in a way that showed that authors were given limited space to run the plot further.

The spy was typicald hardcore soldier who had enough brains to find occupation in secret service and workrd dutifully for his king and country. He was haunted only by two things one was image of man in russian hussar uniform who nearly killed him during Crimean campaign, the other was that he prefered male flesh in his bed. He faced both of it in the end.

The nobelman was man like from bodice ripper novels handsome with dark past and even darker future who was inteligent and noble too much to be true. Who was in constant danger of assasination during novel. He was the captivated by spy.

Yes ,both men ended together In the end.
