This was a very funny and very open, insecure look at the author's first year of homeschooling her daughter, Alice. She is not a religious homeschooler, but feels driven to find out about all kinds of homeschooling, from unschooling to the Gothardites. At times, her humor about Christians seems a little too bitter and angry--almost like she is describing a subhuman species. But most of the time, her voice is open, curious, and hilarious. Very entertaining read.
