** spoiler alert ** Wow. This is the first time in a long time I've been so anxious to continue reading a series that I read the books one right after the other. I've read the first four, and I want to know what is going to happen with Inspector Sejer, Sara, Jacob Skarre, and Kollberg! With regard to the central mystery, I was taken aback that it seemed fairly clear that the inspector had forced a confession from an innocent man and the real killer was still on the loose -- something unique in the mystery genre, where the protagonist detective is never wrong. I adored the love story of Poona and Gunder and it broke my heart that she was murdered. My two big questions are: Will that crazy girl follow through on her plan to kill Jacob Skarre? and Will Kollberg make a full recovery from his surgery? I'm definitely reading more of these!
