Tropper is absolutely the go-to guy these days for 21st century suburban Jewish neurotic male characters who manage to be hilarious and appealing despite their self-admitted flaws. Reminded me of the late, lamented "Men of a Certain Age" TV show at times. All of his novels read like screenplays and this one is no different - dialogue crackles with wit and sarcasm. Interesting attempt to write some female POV scenes - not sure if he has done this before and not sure if he quite carries it off, especially in his portrayal of a pregnant 18 year old who is a little too wise for her age, but a good attempt to flesh out the story. His books are such quick page-turning reads that it is a shame we have to wait a few years for the next one.
