I did genuinely enjoy this book, but I think that my expectations may have been a bit high going into it. For me, the cynical main character Bianca is relatable, and even likable at some points, but for a senior in high school she lacked the maturity I would have liked for such an intelligent and seemingly logical person.

The plot started out slowly, almost putting me back into the comfortable redundancy of my high school days but about a quarter of the way through it was constant drama: from divorce to drinking problems, and friendly squabbles to complicated hook-ups. Everything resolved fairly predictably, but Keplinger brings you into the world of the Bianca Piper and I didn't put the book down until the somewhat-cliche-but-all-in-all-satisfying happily ever after.

For what this book is, a story of a girl learning to accept herself, it was a good read. My world wasn't rocked, but I would recommend this book to anyone that has ever felt like a Duff.
