Told from the point of view of an autistic child, this is a powerful, moving and complex book. I read all but the first few pages on a flight home for the holidays. Having just been to London probably helped me visualize some of the locations more clearly, but the narrator's description of his adventure is vivid and all the more immediate for the use of simple, direct language. The narrator's unique voice is clear and consistent throughout. The revelations along they way are believable and heartrending. The hero, and the narrator is definitely a hero, is as brave as any you will meet in fiction.
