I have a copy (autographed to someone else) packed somewhere that I got from a past co-worker while working at a private school library--telling me this was a "must-read" around 2008. Now I cannot locate the woman to return the copy and still didn't get the opportunity to read it until now but I am actually reading a copy from a co-worker at my current job.

While reading at work, already seeing Jasmine's conniving mannerisms that make me cringe, especially in the church thinking she can sit in the reserved seating aisle to gather the attention of a man in cloth (Pastor). I only read about 30 pages in and kind of can see where this is going...a plan of destructive ludicrous scheming and dreaming of bringing in the Benjamins ($100 dollar bills rolling in) as Jasmine put it with a so-called lucrative mega-preacher in her elusive mind and waiting for any inconclusive concepts to gain his heart. I will continue to read to see how this plays out...(I also have Temptation somewhere packed to read for future readings).

Later throughout the reading I wondered when the truth will come to the light and how would her husband Hosea Bush handle the truth. There were a few liners that I really liked such as marriage is a lifetime not placing limits; Christians will judge and then run when it gets too hot in a situation; but wondered how Jasmine character would be comfortable using Christian mode to attract the Pastor's son and expect love to surpass her whorish ways when the truth set the couple free...then couldn't trust God then and felt she had to do it all herself. I was like ok...really...I guess many church wanna-bes will use Christ to get what they want in the world and later when things don't look nice, think they can do it all on their very own. Victoria really had me shaking my head but know it does really happen in real life. Decent read but was glad when I completed it.
