did not like it
bookshelves: j-fiction, clean, guy-friendly, not-white-characters-stories
Read in January, 1993

A storm is coming to the small Aleutian island where our narrator lives, and as everyone is evacuating she looks back and realizes her little brother has been left behind. She jumps out of the boat and swims back to the island, and they live there alone until her brother is killed.

Kind of like the movie "Castaway" if Tom Hanks had been a teenage girl and Wilson the volleyball had been a murderous wild dog. I didn't like "Castaway", and I didn't like this book either. I thought it was simultaneously depressing and boring.
