really liked it
Read from August 25 to 26, 2012 , read count: 1

Overall, this was a good read, very much what I expected from an Amanda Quick novel: self-sufficient heroine, brooding but honorable hero, some mystery, a red herring, good sexual heat, and a chunk of paranormal energy. It was as fun and as entertaining as I expected. Still, my overall feeling after I finish this book was meh. Maybe I'm done, after reading all of her Arcane Society novels, or maybe it was due to the fact that this was not one of them (this is part of the Ladies of Lantern Street series). All I know is that I wasn't all about pre-ordering to get the cool swag like I did for the previous books. Hm. Or maybe reading while feeling under the weather with kids shows blasting from the television prevented me from truly enjoying this book.
