Having loved Cassandra Clare's epic fanfiction, Draco Trilogy, I was really looking forward to reading a great adventure - and I sure wasn't disappointed.

Clary Fray is just a normal 15 year old girl going to a club to let her hair down like every other girl. But then she saw a murder, and yet there was no body and nobody else seemed to care. What she discovered next was the world of the Shadowhunters, demons, faeries, werewolves, vampires, all set in the heart of New York - a great urban fantasy adventure.

Though the beginning was kind of shaky, the story developed wonderfully with sufficiently fleshed out characters, surprising twists, and formidable writing for a debut publication. Readers of Draco Trilogy will feel a sense of familiarity in the way Clare tells her story - even a striking similarity in the characterization of Jace Wayland with her Draco Trilogy's Draco Malfoy. It is undeniable that the book is heavily influenced by Harry Potter, Buffy, and even Lord of the Rings, but these influences work to create an enjoyable story that would just grab you and refuse to let you go. If you enjoy fantasy adventure, City of Bones would be one to not miss!
