This is a reworking of "The Magic Flute" told from a number of viewpoints as a narrator directly to the reader.
I found the POV switches very annoying. Most of the time I didn't know who was speaking until the bottom of the first page of a chapter, keeping me disoriented. And the constant switching left little time to know or care about any of the characters.
It did bring up some very interesting things to think about on marriage and life and was an easy read.
