A quick read from Chabon. While not as unbelievably amazing as Kavalier & Clay, a very good book. Short and succinct, he revels in the character of the old man, who is heavily implied to be, but never named as, Sherlock Holmes. While I didn't find the mystery he created to be all that well orchestrated, or his world to be particularly Holmesian, I greatly enjoyed the old man, who was irascible, cunning, and crotchety in a way that was really charming to read.
