I didn't have high expectations for this book, but was pleasantly surprised. It isn't anything earth-shattering or life-altering. However, it is a well written adventure story good for boy and girl alike. I would place it on the same level as Peter and the Starcatchers.

The main characters, Matt and Kate, are interesting but still complete the story with room for further maturing. The adventure story is compelling and perfect for the intended audience (teen readers). The airship and sky adventures, as well as the mysterious winged creatures made the book unique and added to the interest. In the years to come, I am sure my kids will enjoy it and I would recommend it for my older nieces and nephews.
