This was good.

Lou Morgan's "Blood & Feathers" is - well , describing it as an updated "Paradise Lost" could be a start....

Alice is a librarian in her early 20's . She's also half-angel, which becomes apparent the day she finds 2 angels - Mallory & Gwyn - in her front room , & sees her father get his head ripped off by a fallen angel. From this point everything changes , as we find out that as a half-angel she is a potent weapon , & that the balance of power between heaven & hell is shifting....

This was a little slow to start , but once it warms up it fairly gallops along . There is a "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" feel to the characters , which is no bad thing , but all players are well-drawn , with believable motivations & interesting shades to them .

A very good debut novel . I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

Well worth a look.
