Sandi Whew! I've been having trouble remembering what was in this book. Now, I see that it's because so much happened and there were so many characters. Thanks for bringing the book back into my memory.

Jon Glad I could help. :) It's been a long trek through this book, but it was fun and interesting.

I think I got all the main characters. I left out all the government officials, the Ministers, Generals and even Mad King George, who was such a tragic pathetic figure, but he had such a brief cameo in the thousand pages.

jzhunagev Very good review Jon... really liked it and as of reading your review I'm quite done with the book... reading the review made me truly appreciate Clarke's first ginormous novel... but I don't seem to read the lines here.. did you really like the book?

Jon Yes, I really did like the book. I know, sometimes I feel I'm in the minority in that respect. Many of my friends or book club members struggled to finish reading or just threw up their hands in frustration and quit. I kept at it and enjoyed it. Having the audio book CD helped and I loved the narrator's diction and accent.

Sandi Jon, that's really strange spam. I flagged it. I figure you did too.
