by Lee Child
by Lee Child
“A Wanted Man” by Lee Child, published by Delacorte Press.
Category – Mystery/Thriller
Jack Reacher is back and better than ever.
This is the 17th book than Lee Child has written featuring Jack Reacher. The books can basically be read in any order and all are great reads.
Jack is ex-military and has become disenchanted with the establishment. He is hitchhiking across the country and trying to mind his own business. Unfortunately for him, lucky for us, no matter where he goes trouble with a capital T finds him.
Jack is hitchhiking in Omaha, Nebraska and gets a ride, not just a ride, but a ride with 2 men who may have just committed a murder and a woman hostage. Jack escapes when he is shot at, but can’t figure out how the bullet missed him. Jack, a noble man, gets his ire up when he finds out that the hostage has a 10 year old girl. He vows to get her reunited with her daughter.
The plot thickens when he finds out that the murdered man was a trade attaché for the United States and was fluent in Arabic. All at once this simple murder turns into a mess with the local authorities, the CIA, Homeland Security, and the FBI all becoming involved.
In Lee Child and Jack Reacher fashion, the book is full of action and surprises.
