really liked it

Dead Radiance (the prequel to this book) captured me with its evocative setting and a new fresh way of looking at Norse mythology.
Dead Embers picks up where the first book left off. Although this is Book 2 of a trilogy it can be read as a standalone as Bryn's backstory is carefully and subtly woven into this current storyline.
Bryn's trials and tribulations in this book 2 test her in ways she could never imagine.
Bryn is that rare character in YA fantasy - a kick-ass heroine with flaws who refuses to whine about how her life is turning out.
TG Ayer has captured my curiosity and stirred my imagination even further in this second book. Her prose is rich with emotion and she spins settings so real from a web of beautifully woven words that cannot fail to mesmerize the reader.
I cannot wait for Book 3.
