Read in January, 1998

A fun collection of facts and details about 19th-century life. It's actually pretty helpful for understanding some of the perplexing details which are rattled off in Austen or Trollope as quite commonplace and which 21st-century readers have never heard of. It's a worthwhile investment for anyone who plans to do a lot of Victorian Brit reading.
