Jack Ryan, now in the administration of the CIA, uncovers a plot by the President of the US to send covert operations into Columbia to destroy the drug cartels.
But the presidents mission is changed in the middle because of political pressure and the troops he sent are left to die in the jungle.
Jack, along with the missions leader (and one of Clancy's best characters), Mr. Clark, have to track down the reason for the deaths of American soldiers, and at the same time finish the destruction of the cartel.
The scene in the movie, in the Oval office between Ryan and the president was awesome. But then.. it was Harrison Ford :)
