really liked it
bookshelves: adult-fiction, coming-of-age
Read from August 23 to 24, 2012

On the surface, this book was basically Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants goes to Smith. However, ultimately the book was much more about the impact that feminism has had on the lives and decisions of my generation. Despite April's attempts to advocate for the poor and weak, this book was definitely biased towards the privileged few. Besides April who was extremely radical anyway, the characters were all wealthy and successful without even trying. They were able to make life decisions without any real consequences and therefore failed to represent the reality of most young women my age.
