it was amazing
bookshelves: crime-fiction, noir
Read in December, 2008

The recently-published, newest entry in the series. There are definitely differences between this end of the series and the early-sixties stuff that I just finished; Parker is as taciturn as ever but is subtly shown to be capable of human relationships. This makes it more shocking when he turns around and kills somebody, calmly and with a minimum of fuss, just because it's the most pragmatic thing to do at the time.

My favorite bit, given the series is in its fifth decade, is that Parker is somehow magically not eighty years old.
