A beautiful biography that captures the cadences and rhythm's of Holliday's voice. It really feels like she it talking right to you out of the pages. Kind of reminds me of Miles Davis autobiography, which was also dictated, but this has far fewer "fucks" in it. There is an old Xiu Xiu song that references Holiday "Listen to Lady Day. Pretend someone could love you." Pretty much says it all I think.
