No, it's not the original, though I love the original and I've read it numerous times, I still found this unique edition to be surprisingly refreshing with the warmth and dignity the story deserves. And it was unexpectedly moving! I also appreciate that the language and storyline were kept remarkably intact.

Never read a graphic novel before, I guess this was a good place to start! :)

Nancy Your first graphic novel??? Does that mean you haven't read TinTin? Your kids would LOVE TinTin and Asterix too.

Alicia Oops - maybe I'm wrong. I have read some of TinTin (I was originally introduced to these as a kid when my sister brought them home from Europe - IN FRENCH to our great frustration, LOL) and my kids have read tons of TinTin! I guess I wasn't thinking of that in the "novel" sense. Gotta brush up on my definitions. :)

Nancy True, TinTin originates as a Graphic Novel, and A Christmas Carol originates as a novel; but I think, for example, in the library, they are considered the same thing.

Alicia That makes sense.
