it was amazing

I'm whining...
Why didn't I think of writing an adventure about teenage assassin nuns?!

Grr!

Okay, maybe I was just in the right mood for it-
No. This was a wonderful, excellent book. It's like Outlander, but without all the insane violence and graphic sex.

I loved the premise, the characters, the story, everything. I'm trying to line up all my favorite reads of 2012, and this may have the top spot. Not the most G-rated YA book (but certainly not the most R, either). Whether you're 16, 30, or 90, you will respect and adore this book; well, if you have any taste at all, that is.

The last chapter (spoiler alert) where Ismae saves Duval's life by either doing the deed, or very nearly so (tastefully left up to you by the author, I think) nearly made me lower my 5 stars to 4, but I couldn't bring myself to do that. It was just a 5 star read for me, no matter how I may have rolled my eyes a little.

I can't wait for the next installment! I know it's going to be about Sybella, and I am hoping against hope that it involves Beast.

L.R. Green I'm sorry, but it's life's cruel fact that we cannot be the greatest at what we do... generally speaking.
