You would expect this third volume of this Arthurian tale -- with Arthur as king -- to be primarily about his reign. But the story of Merlin dominates this volume: his power fading, his body aging. The story is well-told, and not what I expected; the quiet wistful ending is a small letdown after the emotion and magic that came before it. Nonetheless, I am sad to leave Merlin's cave.

Carrie I loved her books when I read them, probably 20 years ago. Thanks for the reminder, I might have to see what's available through the library for Kindle!

Steve They were quite different from how I remembered them. Good books are almost always worth revisiting
