The 9th book in the Lost Years of Merlin, "The Great Tree of Avalon" sets the stage for the latter stages of this series. Set some 400 years after the last book, we're introduced to Tamywn, Elli & Scree any of whom could be the true heir of Merlin & the person who could destroy everything. Barron's story is again fast moving as the quest to solve the reasons starts in a constellation associated with the wizard keep disappearing & the identity of the person who could destroy everything. The character development for these new adventures is well done & the the link to the past stories in the series is also done nicely as well. There's a lot of foreshadowing done in this book about where things in past, present & future will meet in the beginning of what promises to be a very exciting new chapter in this series.
