Read from November 17 to 22, 2013 — I own a copy

(3.0) Entertaining, but even more juvenile at times than I expected

Would've been much cooler if we actually learn specifics of the test that Gragg is given before being welcomed into the Faction. Instead, we get a brief summary, telling not showing.

"Nice algorithm" in response to virtual rat scurrying. Not a realistic response.

(view spoiler)

One thing I wished he'd address even a little bit: how crazy amazing must have been the testing effort to make sure that all of this infrastructure, booby traps, autonomous vehicles etc. actually worked?

But overall, the premise of a young gamer taking over the world because he's so damn smart and righteous and sick of people telling him how to live his life...not to mention being the beneficiary of a rich genius' wealth of money and knowledge who helps him achieve this power. Feels very junior high, but also already done many times by earlier cyberwriters (and I haven't even read that many yet).

But yeah, I did just order Freedom (TM), cause this one kind of just stops in the middle of things.
