Having loved A Place of Execution I thought I'd try a few more McDermid's novels. This was just okay for me. I liked the story but certain storylines, the teenage girl, were totally irrelevant and more filler than anything else.

Cool story integrating poetry, the Mutiny on the Bounty, and a really old dead man's body.

For some reason I was expecting more Wire In the Blood type writing but this book was super tame.

I would recommend this book to those who like fairly bland mysteries with a historical slant.
