it was amazing

I was assigned this for class reading for European History senior year of high school. I loved it, and it led me to search out her other books. I find her scholarship and her writing captivating. She brings history alive for me and makes me want to know more about what she's writing. And she make me realize how important it is that we don't forget history - that we are never going to progress beyond it if we don't make an effort to improve on the mistakes of the past. And she does all that while simply telling a good story. She's pretty impressive.
