Like "The Awakening," but set in the early 70s and chock full of Irish Catholic guilt. In other words, it was probably groundbreaking when it came out, but now feminism is stuck dealing with the repercussions of characters like Isabel, whose personal growth consists of dating a married dude, then feeling guilty, then eating her feelings. Meh.
