really liked it

** spoiler alert ** This review is from Davy and me. I tend to really like books in which he becomes completely absorbed. This one held his attention for many reasons. Mainly, he enjoyed seeing Paul find his way through a difficult, confusing 7th grade semester. The almost unbelievable becomes completely believable in this book - sinkholes that swallow schools, entire streets of homes tented and treated for pests, underground fires that never go out, a legally blind boy who is a great soccer goalie, robbery and murder right at home, gangstas, etc. Paul is a hero of sorts who quietly navigates his way through multiple difficulties and enriches his life along the way.
