did not like it
bookshelves: female-hero, dystopian, not-one-good-thing-about-it, book-bash

Chapter-by-chapter on my blog.

There's a lot you can say about this novel, from the terrible worldbuilding to the pervasive misogyny, but I think that the most damning thing is: it's just so boring. For a book that includes multiple wars and rebel attacks, it's amazing how little any of that conflict matters, since we're stuck on a futuristic rehash of The Bachelor the entire time. The only thing that could possibly save it from it's own plot is some interesting world-building, but this book decided to replace 'interesting' with 'Mad Libs.'
