a heart-pounding, sexy adventure with an incredible sense of place

Jim Craig's 'North to Disaster' is a thrilling tale of how Johnny Wainwright, flying repo-man and borderline hermit, goes on a quest to recover his friend's stolen airplane, and ends up finding both his heart and his guts.

Craig writes with a strong sense of place. His love of the Alaskan wilderness and of flying shines through Johnny's thoughts and actions. Readers are treated to grand views of Seward and is surrounding bay, mountains, and islands.

But that's just the setting: Craig has put together quite the thrilling adventure. Johnny is drawn into helping his friend Willie once Willie is wrongly attacked as revenge for one of Johnny's repo jobs. Talk about tension - then it's ratcheted up when Willie's smokin' daughter shows up and she and Johnny start a love/hate mating dance. Soon planes are crashing, people are dying, and the reader is caught up in a whirlwind of action, betrayal, revenge, and survival. What a ride!

Hopefully Johnny Wainwright's gonna have more adventures. A great debut, Jim Craig - don't keep us waiting too long!
