really liked it

This book reminded by a lot of a less edgy Coetzee, perhaps was what the author attempted. I did enjoy reading it but it isn't as substantial as I was expecting given the subject matter. As much as I did enjoy this Flanery skims over the implications of the daughter's actions, never attempts to delve in why she might have done what she is accused of, and doesn't give any of the feeling of Africa except for the need for security. I recommended this to a friend from Capetown will look froward to his feedback.
