The Hypnotist's Love Story is a great summer read. It is not too heavy or complex and tells the stories of two likable women, the hypnotist and the female stalker. Interestingly, I liked both women equally and rooted for them both to find ways they could be happy. I really liked the way the author refrained from vilifying the stalker who was not a dangerous woman, just one who found it difficult to give up on what had been the love of her life for three years. The perspective in the book shifted between a third person account through the eyes of the hypnotist and a first person account from the viewpoint of the stalker. For that reason alone, I was tempted to view the story from her perspective, even though professionally my work is similar to that of the hypnotist. That said, the book is sure to entertain with its romantic plot and funny interludes.
