Truly a strong literary work that is already acclaimed as a modern-day masterpiece (for good reason). Switching between points of view certainly added to the strong structure of the novel and the play with language was beautiful and intriguing. I did, however, feel a strong disconnect with the characters toward the end of the novel. It was somewhat difficult to get into at times with a few sections of drawn-out, over-the-top language. Don't get me wrong - that is part of what makes it a masterpiece - however, it detracted greatly from the storyline for me. It was also somewhat didactic in parts, which luckily was only slightly distracting.
