This was my first Lansdale book. The Hap and Leonard duo are great characters and Lansdale writes with an excellent voice. I'll definitely be looking for the rest of this series and checking out the rest of Lansdale's backlist.

Hap and Leonard are an odd couple - Hap is a middle-aged, straight, white guy and Leonard is a black, gay guy - yet their temperaments are quite compatible. They both practice martial arts and live relatively austere lives.

In MUCHO MOJO, Leonard inherits his Uncle Chester's house and some money. As he and Hap clean up the house, they discover something tragic that drives the rest of the story.

Lansdale is a talented storyteller who knows his way with words. He can describe a scene as capably as James Lee Burke, but use half the words.
