Orwell's insights on writing are supremely inspiring. His essays shine light on a rewarding path of clear and beautiful expression through the English language. It is a powerful addition to any writer's repertoire.

In addition to the insights on the use of English language, there is also an excellent description of the political situation in England before and during the WWII. His knowledge of the political situation of the time is invaluable to any curious reader. And, as an Indian, it was interesting to note his understanding of the British-ruled Indian situation, and the foray of possibilities he presents for its evolution.
