I feel like this was too short to properly review. :)

At only 41 pages, this novella is a nice little opener to the Madly series. Within it, we meet Madly and her two best friends, Jersey and Aidan. All are merfolk, and tasked with keeping humans safe from the mythological creatures known as Lore.

But Madly is informed that some of the imprisoned Lore have broken free, and not only has her family been taken hostage, but she is the only one that has any hope of making things right again.

At her side is the Sentinel Jackson, who is Jersey's older brother and Madly's longtime crush. Thought Madly is betrothed to Aidan, she feels an inexplicable pull toward Jackson--which could be very bad for the both of them, and a distraction to a girl who's trying to save two races of people.

This novella made me primed to continue with the series!
