Wow- where to begin. I already loved Joanna's blog and decided to buy this book on my iPhone out of support- it didn't disappoint! For those who don't know, Joanna Brooks is a Mormon feminist writer, who is raising interfaith children with a Jewish husband. I finished most of this book within one day. Admittedly I was born and raised Mormon, and relate to the author in that I am not very orthodox- so that could be why I was flipping page after page. This story truly helped me become more comfortable with who I am as a Mormon, and some of the struggles I have had with my own views and acceptance. Whether you are Mormon- or just curious about the religion- Joanna describes "Mormon girl" culture with heartbreaking honesty, humor, and tenderness- without trying to convert or gloss over controversial history. Highly recommended.
