It takes a couple of pages to settle into the unique writing style of this author. This is not a bad thing however as Keller uses her words to provide beautiful imagery and insight for her characters.

The pace throughout the book tends to be slow but with interesting plots and subplots it does not leave you yawning. It also allows for more character development which Keller provides in abundance.

The only things that I did not like about this tale was the portrayal of mental disability and adolescence, which I felt to be stereotypical and outlandish at times - although this is just my personal opinion.

Overall the tale was an interesting read and I would recommend it to those looking for their first crime fiction book.
