Eh. That's the best word I could come up with for this book. Just, eh. It was badly in need of an editor with some authority, someone to pull out all of the self-congratulatory bits and turn it into a normal book. It's just too full of vegan self-righteousness for me. Some of the running stories were good, but nearly all of them were laced with anecdotes about why Jurek is smarter and more dedicated and tougher than everyone else. I borrowed this from the library and I still feel like I want a refund.
