Jennifer Laura's been reading this book also. I'm pretty sure she has enjoyed it.

Annie I read this suspenseful book to two of my kids (ages 13 & 10...I wouldn't go any younger than that, I think). They loved it and would ask for me to read it at any free interval in the day. Then when we were done, they would beg for just another chapter.

However it's not for the faint hearted! The book (set in the distant future) revolves around a survival contest where the enlisted participants are forced to fight to death. There is violence and killing but it is not glorified. The events and plot opened up some great conversations for us about war, friendship, hunger, love, and honor.
