I enjoyed this book because it was intelligent and a wonderful tribute to a mom from her son. As I have 4 sons and 2 stepsons, I could relate to the bond between the author and his mother. Of course the book talks about books, which is also a passion of mine! I loved sharing in Will and his mother's insights about books - both those that I've read and those that I have not. I have to confess I feel fairly intimidated by the accomplishments of Mary Ann(e) Schwalbe. They are a family of privilege and way out of my realm of experience as far as daily life goes. They also seemed to be able to read soooo much more than anyone I know - even my bookseller and publisher friends! and yet- lived so much life. How did they do this? I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about great novels and stories or to anyone who can't get enough of talking about books!
