Set in Charleston at the time of America's War for Independence from England, Celia Garth shows her own independent spirit and spunk. Orphaned and living with her aunt and uncle, Celia gains a position at Mrs. Thorley's shop where her skill with needle and thread are underestimated. Her desire to improve her circumstances brings her into a lifestyle she immediately desires, a lifestyle where family love abounds. As she tells her story, she finds love, respect and a dangerous mission in the War. As a reader, the only down side is wanting to visit Charleston again sooner than I can manage.
