Eclipse is the third young-adult novel in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series; a romantic saga about a beautiful and graceful vampire and a clumsy, theatrical, plain-Jane human teenager that fall in love with each other.
The primary focus is on Bella and Edward’s relationship that revolves around the eroticism of abstinence with an emphasis on trying to “do the right thing.”

You really should read the first two novels Twilight and New Moon before reading Eclipse because it continues, rather than reiterating, the enchanting story of Bella and Edward.

With Bella’s high school graduation fast approaching, she begins to prepare herself for leaving Forks and her family and friends behind for college, supposedly. Her real plan is to become part of the Cullen coven. Once her plans are revealed to her best friend Jacob Black, a werewolf who is unhappy about them to say the least, the realization of what she is going to have to give up hits her. One would think her soul would be top priority, but it isn’t. She must now make the heart wrenching choice between Edward and Jacob, both of whom she is in love with. Someone’s heart will be broken no matter what decision she makes. As if this wasn’t enough to go through, she has to deal with other vampires coming to kill her.

Personal Note*
This series is a good read for any vampire aficionado, no matter what market they target, young or mature.
For those interested, I've placed my own constructive criticism regarding the Twilight series on my Website.
