I read this engaging memoir in one evening. Ms. Marton, a gifted, award-winning writer and journalist, was married to both Peter Jennings and Richard Holbrook, thus her memories are peppered with the likes of Hillary Clinton, Pamela Harriman, Kofi Annan, and Nelson Mandela. It's a quick read about a very bright woman, whose life is part Washington insider and part Washington outsider and runs the gamut from inspiring to intriguing to sad and back again. This slim volume reads, in all respects, as an honest and human picture of a fascinating woman survivor.
